wedding photography outside sydney: blue mountains, southern highlands, and hunter valley

Yes, weddings in the Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands, and Hunter Valley are all regions I shoot in, alongside Sydney. Travel outside the Sydney metro area is factored into your quote individually rather than added as a flat fee, so the number you get reflects your actual wedding rather than a generic surcharge.

what actually goes into the quote

Two main factors: distance and whether an overnight stay is needed.

  • Distance: travel costs generally apply once a venue is more than 50km from Coogee. Inside that radius, travel is already factored into the standard rate.

  • Overnight stays: for weddings that need an early start or finish too late to reasonably travel home the same night, accommodation is added at cost - I aim to keep this under $200 where possible.

Both of these are part of the quote once I know your venue and timing, so you'll see the actual number upfront rather than a surprise added later.

booking timeline for regional weddings

The general rule still applies here: 6-12 months out is typical for securing a specific date in peak season, and that's arguably even more relevant for regional weddings, where venues and the surrounding accommodation for guests often book out further ahead than a Sydney venue would.

what doesn't change, regardless of location

The actual approach to shooting your wedding stays the same wherever it is - documentary, natural light, no posed studio-style setups. Distance changes the logistics and the quote, not the style of coverage you get on the day.

If you've got a date and venue in mind, get in touch with the details and I'll put together an accurate quote — or have a look at the wedding photography page for more on how these sessions work.
