I don't work out of a studio. I'm a natural light, on-location photographer, so I come to you. That might mean your home, a favourite local park, or one of the beaches or spots across Sydney I regularly shoot at. If you're not sure where, I can suggest a location based on your session type and what time of day works best for the light.

For family and portrait sessions, 4-6 weeks ahead gives us good flexibility on timing and location. For weddings, earlier is better - 6-12 months out is typical, especially for a preferred date in peak season. Newborn sessions are a bit different: it's worth getting in touch during pregnancy so we can pencil in a rough window, since these sessions are best done in the first couple of weeks after birth.

It depends on how heavy it is. Light rain often isn't a dealbreaker and we can continue as planned, sometimes to great effect. If it's heavier, we've got two options: move to a backup location with some cover, or reschedule to another day. I'll always make the call with you on the day rather than cancelling by default.

Generally 3-4 weeks for portrait, family, and other standard sessions, and around 6 weeks for weddings given the larger volume of images to work through. In practice I aim to have everything back to you within 2 weeks wherever possible. As a rough guide, expect somewhere around 60-100 edited images per hour of coverage, though this varies depending on the session.

Keep it simple and coordinated rather than matching exactly - think complementary tones instead of everyone in the same colour. Solid colours and soft patterns photograph better than busy prints or logos. Layering (a jacket, a cardigan) gives us a bit more variety across the shoot without a full outfit change. If you're not sure, send me a photo of what you're considering beforehand and I'm happy to give feedback.

You'll receive your full set of edited photos as digital files, sized ready for printing, with no real restrictions on how you use them.

This mostly comes down to what you need covered. A half-day suits a single event or a few hours of coverage - think a birthday, a smaller celebration, or a few hours of a larger event. A full day suits something spanning most of the day, like a wedding or a multi-part celebration. If you're not sure which you need, tell me roughly what you want covered and I'll recommend the right fit rather than the more expensive option by default.

Yep! I shoot weddings in the Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands, and Hunter Valley as well as across Sydney. Travel outside the Sydney metro area is quoted individually depending on location and timing, so get in touch with your date and venue and I'll give you an accurate number rather than a generic add-on fee.
